Between us, we have over 50 years of video-making experience.
It’d be really great if you didn’t mention this when you meet us,
because it makes us feel really old.
Thank you.
I started my career in the arts as a manager for Warner Music International, handling royalties for their key artists.
On moving to Bath in 1999, I established a video production company, which, in 2006, pioneered arts eLearning by becoming the first company in the world to publish full length online dance classes. Clips on my DanceClassVideo YouTube channel have been viewed over 35 million times and I qualified for the YouTube Silver Award.
Ad hoc work within film & television has included contracts with Universal, Warner Bros., BBC and Focus Features. Some of my projects included advising West End theatre companies on filming trailers and live streaming strategy. As consultant to a film festival I created the UK’s first ‘full house’ feature film test screening service, and as a previous student of the National Film & Television School, I was asked by them to create their first ever course in online audience strategy.
As a die-hard freelancer, there have been times in my career when my sole income stream has been from my online video views. That sharpens the mind a bit; I’ve had to learn fast what works and what doesn’t. But now, having built sizable audiences for my own work and for my clients, I can help you understand how it’s done, so you can have what I have; a profitable, engaged online audience.
From covering news stories such as drug running in Brazil and civil war in Rwanda and Sudan, my TV work has featured on PBS, Sky News, Bloomberg, CBS, and ITN.
Together with running my own production company, and producing content for corporate clients, I’ve been at the heart of television and video for well over 25 years.
And alongside shooting news and commercial projects I’ve spent the last ten years creating and delivering bespoke video production training workshops for corporate and government clients.
I’m a little bit obsessed with having the right gear for the job so I’ve invested heavily in production equipment to make sure I can deliver whatever my clients need. One of my favourite things to do is lighting - the possibilities are endless. If only I could pack more gear in to my van.
I use my real-life broadcast and corporate and experiences to give you the inside track on creating the very best video content you can, regardless of your resources or experience. Shooting news in tricky environments has taught me to be fast but careful and mostly to focus on getting the job done the right way. It’s these same traits I want to share with you.
About Suzanne: "The training was amazing. There was so much I didn’t realize I needed to know. But the most mind-blowing thing was that as Suzanne was speaking, a question would pop into my head, and the very next thing she said, she answered that question without me having to ask it. It was like magic."
About Andrew: "It was probably the most fun training course I’ve ever been on and completely exceeded my expectations. I felt lucky to be trained by someone with such extensive experience. What tops is off is that Andrew is a working professional, bringing current, real-life experience to the training. Plus, he’s a really nice guy!"
